Character Customization

You've probably been perusing the recent changes page lately and noticed that I've finished working on a great portion of the different character appearance traits on my user page. I'm not exactly sure how to go about making that into an article, whether it's what to name it or if it should be be separated into several. The male hairstyle list still needs work. ~(Tasky 22:25, 26 July 2009 (CDT))

Yeah, I saw your user page. The appearance structure and images look great! That would be a huge single article so I would recommend breaking it up. It doesn't really fit into any of the other major topics so I'll make a link from the main page. How does this look for a structure?
What do you think? Would "Appearance" or "Character Customization" (or other?) be the titles for this article? --Arhon 22:57, 26 July 2009 (CDT)
Sounds good to me. Tasky 00:21, 27 July 2009 (CDT)
Okay, I've created a basic appearance article with a couple links. I've linked it from the front page so people can find it. Enjoy :) --Arhon 01:16, 27 July 2009 (CDT)

World Map

Take a look at World Map and see what you think. I think it will later be a big convenience. I made it redirect so that you can click on a minimap and it will take you directly to the page that has that map's information, assuming that that page exists. For now only the city maps will actually redirect, since those are the only map pages that exist so far.. The major obstacle to this is probably the size and scale of the map. It might be necessary to thumbnail size each minimap or reduce the overall size somehow. On another subject, all the map names, item names, and whatever other pages might not be the correct names in the release, and only those with extended user rights could conceivably delete or rename or revert things unlike regular users, so it might be necessary to delegate some abilities, unless you'd rather do it alone. ~ Tasky 05:36, 27 July 2009 (CDT)

That is really nifty. The images were way to big though, so I changed them all to be resized down to 40px. Let me think on how best to implement this one. I can see the effect you're going for but that is a bit more interactive than the wiki system was built to support. On the topic of admins - If this wiki keeps growing at the rate it has been I'm sure that I'll need another admin. Lets wait till the game actually starts launching to see how much traffic we have to deal with before I start adding roles. --Arhon 15:30, 27 July 2009 (CDT)
Do you think that since there's a Cities page and category for City Maps that there could be a Fields page and category for Field Maps and likewise for Dungeons with Dungeon Maps. Also, if that's the case then could World Map, Fields, and Dungeons appear under the World list on the front page? ~ Tasky 01:18, 28 July 2009 (CDT)
Yes. That is exactly what I was thinking. However I wasn't sure about the naming, is it a "Field" or a "Zone", a "Dungeon" or an "Instance"? Well I suppose it can be moved easily enough if the official release uses different language.
I'm not keen about using the world map for navigation. It's a great resource, but not a good way to navigate a group of articles. Wiki style should be text driven, that is text should be used to navigate to images, not the other way around. So a list of zones makes more sense to me than using the map-nav system. I was thinking about converting the world map to a page outside of the wiki to become a separate tool. Didn't get that far yet.
--Arhon 01:38, 28 July 2009 (CDT)
Yes, I was thinking it was mainly just a good resource for those just starting out and don't know or haven't memorized how maps connect and want to see where to go. Here's the image as a whole alone. Ecomap.png

Oh and I also wanted to ask whether you think finishing the field/dungeon maps or finishing item articles was more of a top priority? ~ Tasky 02:33, 28 July 2009 (CDT)

There are still a bazillion items to add. The reason I haven't been adding them is because I wanted to confirm the names in the game. Most of the items I do not have screenshots for. But that is a HUGE project. The field and dungeon stuff seems more manageable lol. But if you want to hammer away at the items go for it :) --Arhon 02:50, 28 July 2009 (CDT)

Maps and Factions

I've been wondering whether some maps are actually neutral or really belong to a faction, since they generally share the same elements as those that are clearly part of the faction maps and some even have faction guards on them. It'd put my mind at ease to know they weren't neutral, anyway. I'm sure anything with "Acronia" in the name is neutral.

In other news, all the field maps are done. ~ Tasky 14:56, 29 July 2009 (CDT)

Sorry about the slow response, its been a long day at work. I'm still unsure about faction affiliation. I figured that anything across the bridges (the point where you need to present a faction pass to cross) is about all we can call faction claimed territory with any certainty.
Brilliant work on the fields pages! That is a wonderful resource! Thanks for the huge contributions :)
I noticed that you took some of the table formatting out on the Fields article, do you like that map above the text look better than the map to the side look?
--Arhon 17:48, 29 July 2009 (CDT)
Actually changing the map to side to map above was unintentional, but I'll fix the rest so it's consistent. ~ Tasky 01:44, 30 July 2009 (CDT)
I happened upon this picture that gives some idea of factions and I'm wondering if this should be followed.

~ Tasky 12:47, 10 August 2009 (CDT)
Humm, it looks good. Maybe that is how the factions are related to the different zones. I just don't know 100%. I'll let you decide :) --Arhon 19:58, 10 August 2009 (CDT)

Job Images

In by any chance you wanted to use these images for jobs you could. They might need a little photo editting for the typo texts though. I'll work on getting some software.

Jobclasstitle.jpg Warriortitle.jpg Jobs1.jpg Jobs2.jpg Jobs3.jpg Jobs4.jpg Spellusertitle.jpg Jobs5.jpg Jobs6.jpg Jobs7.jpg Jobs8.jpg Backpackertitle.jpg Jobs9.jpg Jobs10.jpg Jobs11.jpg Jobs12.jpg

...and arrows to use. Blackarrow.jpg Redtwowayarrow.jpg

On second thought, this may have to be broken down even more and have each individual job image and heading image redirect to the articles like the world map does... Unless you think it's a bad idea and doesn't need to be pursued further.

Oh and by the time you read this the OST / BGM / Song List should be done. It's interesting that japan has 6 songs we don't yet have also.

On another note, August 1st marks my 20'th birthday! ~ Tasky 23:54, 1 August 2009 (CDT)

Those do look really good. Those will be fine just as one big image to put on the jobs page... also...

Happy Birthday Tasky!

--Arhon 00:07, 2 August 2009 (CDT)
Thank you. You responded a lot faster than I thought you would and I got caught up, but here is the OST done now.

Also, here are some miscellaneous pictures. I don't think there's any mention of breeders or gardeners here at all...

- Himeouji. 2 August 09

Those images are great, I wonder if we should be using those for the jobs pages? --Arhon 13:57, 3 August 2009 (CDT)

i don't know, but sure - Himeouji. 4 August 09

Joint Jobs and Theater

The Gardener and Breeder are now up and Job#Jobs_Table was accommodated for them. Theater is also done in case you haven't seen it yet. The appearance of the articles may need to be editted if you don't think they look appropriate. ~ Tasky 16:51, 2 August 2009 (CDT)

Nice work. I don't think we get the joint jobs for a while (saga8?). But at least we have the info. I'll add a couple links from the main page so people can find the OST and Theater articles. --Arhon 13:59, 3 August 2009 (CDT)

I just thought I would share this with you since I was up all night making the banner anyway XD Doesn't matter what you do with it but it's there in case you ever want it. (I left the new banner on the forum in case you didn't see it)

--SkyWyvern 06:41, 7 August 2009 (CDT)

Very nice, would look a lot cleaner if we could find an ECO logo with transparency. Can still see some of the white edges from the anti aliased original. Still, site logo changed! It's more interesting than our original. --Arhon 11:45, 7 August 2009 (CDT)

Yeah I didn't like using one I cut from scratch. If you find a transparent one let me know I've been looking for one for a while. X)--SkyWyvern 20:32, 7 August 2009 (CDT)

I found a transparency
ECO Logo Transparent.png
I ripped this from the Korean site. It's unedited, the glow is natural. This will probably be one of the cleanest ones you will ever see.--SkyWyvern 05:28, 8 August 2009 (CDT)
Nice! I'll see if I can find a use for it tomorrow. I've been up too late tonight =P --Arhon 05:33, 8 August 2009 (CDT)
Eco wiki logo2.png
I put an updated version together real fast. I don't know which you like better or if you wanted to make your own; feel free to I didn't spend a lot of time on this version (the logo to globe size ratio is different in this one and I didn't darken the text).--SkyWyvern 07:26, 8 August 2009 (CDT)
Not bad, but could you put a black stroke on the ECO logo, just a pixel or two? To make it stand out a little better. --Arhon 23:02, 8 August 2009 (CDT)
Ahh, never mind the shadow makes the stroke effect not work very well, just set a drop shadow with a distance of 0, and a little more opacity and it should help. --Arhon 23:07, 8 August 2009 (CDT)
Sorry it took so long I didn't have access to my programs for a while. Made what you wanted; if it's no good tell me. and srry for clogging your page lol (pick which you like)

Logo changed! I went with V3, it looks a lot cleaner now. Nice work! --Arhon 01:20, 11 August 2009 (CDT)
