Item enhancement

Item Enhancement can be used to increase the power of a piece of equipment. Enhanced weapons and armor will have extra bonuses to the attributes those items provide. The degree of the enhancement bonus is based on the number of times an item has been enhanced.

Enhancement Limit

Any single piece of equipment can only be enhanced 10 times. However the chance of successfully enhancing an item is many times is so low as to make the limit almost irrelevant.

Risk

When enhancing a piece of equipment there is always a chance for the enhancement process to fail. If enhancement fails then the item will be destroyed and completely unrecoverable. The chance of success is based on the number of times an item has been enhanced. The first 3 enhancements are almost a 100% success rate, after 3 enhancements the chance of success diminishes greatly with each subsequent enhancement. This mechanic makes highly enhanced items vary rare and valuable.

The chance of successfully enhancing an item to the limit (10 times) is approximately 0.99%. So statistically you could try to enhance 100 items and never see one item succeed 10 times in a row.

Process

Players wishing to have their equipment enhanced should go to Iron City city and meet with the Ironwork Receptionist in the Miners Palace. There they will need to present the appropriate catalyst item and pay the fee of 5,000 gold for each enhancement.
