Experience (abbreviated Exp or XP) is a unit of measurement for character level advancement. Increasing from one level to another requires a fixed amount of experience points.

Experience Types

There are two kinds of experience in Emil Chronicle Online, there is basic experience (simply called Experience) and job experience.

Basic experience is used to increase basic level, and job experience is used to increase job level.

Getting Experience

Experience is rewarded for completing quests or killing monsters. Most, but not all monsters reward both basic experience and job experience.

Higher level quests and monsters reward more experience. If a quest or monster is too far below your level you will be penalized and rewarded less experience, to the point of rewarding no experience at all. (More information needed)

Defeating a monster that is too high above your level also results in an experience penalty. Low-level players who are in a party with high-level players will receive less experience than the high-level players, especially if the monsters killed are higher-leveled than the low-level players.

However, high-level players who are in the same party as players level 20 or lower will receive an experience bonus when killing monsters.
